Day 144 | Ditch Your Old Resume, Then Find a New Job!

Day 144 | Ditch Your Old Resume, Then Find a New Job!

To find your dream job, maybe it is time you stop looking at your resume. Your resume often reminds you too deeply of your past and makes you feel limited in what you can do in the future. You keep looking for future opportunities through the prism of your old experiences. It’s no wonder you feel stuck and confused. Your resume reminds you of the jobs you quit. You are reminded of the terrible managers you’ve worked for who gave you terrible performance feedback from their limited understanding of you and your role. You resume may remind you of a skillset that you’ve always talked about acquiring or the degree that needs completion.  Goodness. Resumes can be depressing at times, huh? Maybe it is time to nix your resume.  Instead, see your future as you want it to be. If this world were perfect, what work would you be doing? What knowledge, skills and experience does it take to do that work? How much of the knowledge, skills and experience do you have today? How long would it take you to acquire the knowledge, skills, and experience if you started working on it TODAY? Did you know that you can be exactly who you want to be if you just start taking baby steps toward that vision…today. And the more you allow yourself to desire something, the more energy you exude while you are gaining the necessary skill sets to be ready for the job opportunity. C’mon, start taking the necessary steps to move toward your new job today. Go ahead. I dare you!
