19 Jun Day 170 | Do It Again! Your Lesson Is In The Second Go Round.
Do it again! I know that the last time you moved forward, things did not go your way. You did not get the job or the promotion. I am sorry that you experienced the pain and disappointment of not getting what you wanted, but now it is time for you to stand up, dust yourself off, and do it again. This reminds me of the time when I got into a minor car accident with my mom who was sitting in the passenger seat. I was sixteen or seventeen years old at the time. I was a new driver. Right after the accident, my mom made me get behind the wheel again immediately, so that I did not start to build up a fear for driving. This is the same for you. We all have moments that do not work in our favor and thank goodness for that. Not everything you want is good for you to have. But that is another message for another time. This message today is one to encourage you to get back up again and try again I’m better at interviewing now than I used to be because of the times I did NOT get the job. I’m better at leading now than I used to be because of moments where I received feedback on behaviors I needed to correct for my team. I’m better because things did not work in my favor and so I had to do it again. What is it that you need to do again? Every time you have to re-do something, it makes you that much more knowledgeable about your approach. How do you think expertise is built anyway! Congratulations on becoming an expert. The world needs more of us!
