28 Jun Day 179 | Do What You LOVE And Happiness Will Follow
Every single morning, I wake up knowing that I get to work on things I LOVE. I start my day inspiring you. I get to indulge in career coaching. I engage in business planning with my team. And as if that weren’t enough for which to be thankful, I get to weave in exercising with friends, networking with influencers, and connecting with loved ones throughout the day. I feel happy and truly blessed with where I am professionally. I have such deep gratitude for where I am today because I know that this time two years ago, it was not the case. I was stressed, tired, pulled in too many directions and there was never enough time in the day to do the things that mattered to me. I was a zombie, at my heaviest weight, uninspired and sort of floating out of one workday into another. I just wasn’t happy. So what changed? My decision changed. I stopped trying to search for happiness and meaning through what society says should make us happy. And I started asking myself the question, “What will make you happy?” I was scared to hear the answer. I was even more fearful that my answer was that I needed to “create” my own career. It took me about a year before I was brave enough to follow through. And then I let go of a job in order to build my career. Trust me, it was scary. It is scary, but I keep pushing forward through it each day. I push forward in gratitude for what has already manifested and I sit in awe when new things come my way that I never expected. If I can do this, it is not a dream that is out of reach for you. Your “career” may not mean being an entrepreneur, it may mean moving into a new industry, or finally working toward a promotion at your current employer. But if there is something pulling you in a new direction and you feel that it will make you happy, just consider it, okay? You’ve taken so many chances on other’s plans, dreams, and visions for you. Now is a great time to take a chance on your own dreams for you.
