03 Jul Day 184 | Do You Fear Your Greatness?
It FEELS like the silliest reality, but there are many, many people who are actually afraid to be GREAT. Do you know if you are one with a fear of greatness? Or maybe I should say, “one of us.” I realized that there’s a part of me afraid to be great too. It is actually more common in each of us and it’s like any other fear. We fear the unknown. You’ve no clue what will happen once you reach your higher potential. Will people hate on you, will you have to cut off friends, will friends walk away from you because they feel you’ve changed, will there be higher expectations of you, will you know what to do once you reach greatness, will you fail, or fall flat on your face? And although there are many unknowns, the only answer I can give you to each of these questions is “possibly.” All of these things could possibly happen when you start reaching your goals and actualizing your potential. But here’s what’s ironic. These things can “possibly” happen if you remain average too. I’d rather them happen on my way to greatness than average-ness. At least the consolation prize is a better life. Fear is natural. Feel the fear. But don’t let fear pause your path to greatness. Are you ready to be more, do more, and have more? Then—all fear aside—let’s go and claim what is ours.
