Day #19: January 19, 2018 – Fear is Only in My Mind

Day #19: January 19, 2018 – Fear is Only in My Mind

I used to fear career fairs. It’s so ironic, I know…because my life is recruiting now. But, I used to look through the double doors into this large open space and see crowds of job seekers and employers. Few…and I mean few… people looked like me. It was intimidating. It was overwhelming. It took a couple of years before I managed to walk through those double doors to talk to an employer. There was no magical cure for the fear of talking to an employer. It was simply placing one foot in front of the other, making my way over to a career fair booth, talking to an employer…and then doing it over and over again. And now, looking back on it all, there was nothing to be afraid of. The employment process takes a lot of courage. It takes a lot of courage to face the fears, doubts and skepticism—but I promise you that it will be worth it. Be courageous today. Courage will open doors for you that you never knew existed.

Love & Light, Jenn
