06 Aug Day 218 | Are You Feeling Unmotivated?
Are you feeling unmotivated? Yes? Then I want you to do what I do when I need a boost in motivation. I learn something. Now, what I learn is not the point. That doesn’t matter. Here is what matters. My learning during unmotivated seasons is “perspective learning.” Through others, I learn new perspectives or new ways of thinking—usually about the same old subjects that demotivated me originally. Thank God that there are billions of people on this Earth who have billions of perspectives to share. I know that one of those people with their unique perspective will REACH me. Their new way of thinking will grab my attention, resonate with me, pull me in, and move me into action. Learning does not have to be a classroom. Motivation does not have to come from a high ticket conference. One of my “go to” learning platform is YouTube and it is FREE. Do not let demotivation allow you to stall your career or overall life. Find a lifeline in another person’s message, story, approach, or thinking and hold on to it for dear life. And once you are afloat again (I.e., motivated) get back to work. It gets easier and easier with time and you will also find that you will have fewer and fewer moments of demotivation, or it will take you less time to bounce back. Remember that you’ve got this.
