Day 220 | Clarity, Courage, and Confidence

Day 220 | Clarity, Courage, and Confidence

The ingredients to a life well lived is clarity, courage, and confidence–in that order. We need clarity of desire, courage to move in the direction of that desire, and confidence to stay on the path. An imbalanced life is one that’s missing one of those three ingredients. If you are wondering why your life feels out of balance at any one point in particular, ask yourself which ingredient is missing. Is it a clarity of desire? Do you know what you want? Like, do you really, really know what it is that you want? If you do, when was the last time you found the courage to ask for it? Sometimes, however, it is not about asking for it. Sometimes it is about having the courage to remove a barrier in your life that is blocking your desire. For some, it may mean having a conversation, leaving one job for another, taking a leap of faith, who knows. But one thing that remains certain is that it takes faith. Confidence is nothing more than trust. Trusting the way forward is key in having a good life. If you are often worried about backlash, something falling apart, or something going awry, how will you ever be able to focus on your good life? How do you gain clarity, courage, and confidence?  You gain it one day at a time. It happens through practice. It happens through surrounding yourself through others who already have these traits. It happens by being present enough to feel those moments when you are the opposite and then reversing a decision midway that puts you back on path toward clarity, courage and confidence. Lives well lived do not happen overnight—but they can happen. Just keep going.
