Day #26: January 26, 2018 – Watch Yourself Grow!

Day #26: January 26, 2018 – Watch Yourself Grow!

Be present in every moment of your job search. As a matter of fact, I ask some of my clients to keep a journal—particularly those who feel the furthest removed from where they want to be. I ask them to write about their feelings, you know, the despair, doubt, and skepticism.  I ask them to write about what is real for them in this very moment. Then, the next day, I ask them to write about what is real for them in that exact moment. And so on. The purpose is to get those feelings out of them and to record the journey. I want them to have proof of how far they have come and how much they’ve grown. Our minds play tricks on us and when we begin to think that just because we have not yet secured the job we want that nothing has changed. When in fact—there is so much to be grateful for, so many things are changing and so many things are improving. Over the course of a journey you never stay the same. And if you are moving toward your career goals, it only gets better. Track your journey and watch yourself grow.  You would be proud.
