25 Mar Day #84 *March 25, 2018* – I Don’t Need Your Permission.
I don’t need your permission. These were five of the toughest words for me to learn to say. There was something deep inside of me always waiting for someone’s permission and/or validation. This deeply held belief that I needed someone’s permission seeped into many areas of my life, especially within my career. I waited for permission to apply to my first managerial position. I would wait for permission to voice my opinion. I would even wait for permission to have a seat at the decision-making table. Does this sound familiar and resonate with you? In what areas have you waited for permission? Are you waiting for permission to increase your salary, get more experience, learn a new skill set? As an adult, waiting for permission is a scapegoat that allows us to stay in line, not be accountable, and not make errors or mistakes. But if you are trying to move toward your best life and best career, you are going to have to let go of the need to have someone else’s permission before you leap. Sometimes, it is necessary to leap and ask for forgiveness later, if needed. My Life= My Choice = My Permission. Keep this as a motto.
Sending you Love & Light,
